The recipe consists of a few household ingredients mixed together to create a treatment for your teeth. This treatment removes surface stains, brightens, and whitens the teeth. Since this recipe is moderately abrasive/strong, please follow the instructions on usage below. I have had personal success with this recipe, and is my go-to whitening system. Enjoy!
Recipe:
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon hydrogen peroxide
1/2 teaspoon water
toothpaste as needed (to make the consistency into a light paste)
To create this treatment, mix the first three ingredients together well. Then, add the toothpaste (I recall having to use about a teaspoon of toothpaste) and make sure to mash it in very well. Afterwards, add a little to your toothbrush and brush for 2-4 minutes. If you have whitening toothpaste on hand, this will enhance the recipe.
Keep in mind that hydrogen peroxide does not have a pleasant taste, so only target the teeth. For usage, brush with this recipe once per week until the desired shade of white is achieved. After you are pleased with your shade, brush with this treatment only once a month for maintenance.
*TO NOTE*: The baking soda in this recipe can be very abrasive to one's gums, especially when used in a brushing motion, and extra precautions should be made. If you brush your gums with baking soda, you may cause bleeding and other damage. In order to be safe, try using a children's toothbrush to only
target tooth areas. If you do not wish to purchase one of these, just
take your time avoiding the gums and only brushing onto the tooth's
surface.
